What is a tithe and how is it different than an offering?

The word, “tithe” literally means tenth, or 10%. A tithe is the first 10% of your income. An offering is anything you give above and beyond the 10%. Why do we tithe? The Bible says, The purpose of tithing is to teach you to always put God first in your lives. (Deuteronomy 14:23) Tithing is a reminder that God is the supplier of everything we have. It is also God’s personal invitation to an outpouring of his blessing in your life.

Online Giving

Pleasant View Church of Christ offers online giving to make the process a little easier for you. While this can have advantages, we want each person who chooses this option to make sure they are giving in a spirit that is pleasing to the Lord. While there are several ways to give electronically, including automatic withdrawal from checking and saving accounts we strongly discourage the use of credit cards. “…The borrower is servant to the lender.” (Proverbs 22:7)

Thank you for your faithfulness and may God bless you.
